Didn't have the motivation to post or maybe I'm getting lazy, I've only been playing random RTSs in the last few days. Could be the strange weather that's making me or my peculiar mind, or both. Unexpectedly, I've felt a sudden desire for today so enough with the drama and down to business.
You all know Ghost Recon back in the day, it was a tactical shooter with an approach to realism where you can issue commands to your squadmates and could only take a few bullets before getting killed — akin to a military simulator. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is the first game I've played in the series and the description before definitely doesn't fit the latest entry. Even if this is my first I've felt like I've played this game before — following orders, breaching, linear levels, cinematic scenes sprinkled with massive explosions, and occasional on-rails sections; Yep it really feels so familiar.
Future Soldier takes away team control, now the only thing you can issue is 'mark & execute' similar to SC: Conviction which is a 100% kill. Customization is still intact with a massive selection of gadgets and guns which you can extensively modify from triggers to scopes. But with the nature of game's missions, I always go with what's recommended so most of the time altering equipment is kind of unless I'm aiming for achievements.
Visually it's appealing, unfortunately mine isn't maxed out cause of my crappy rig, but nonetheless is still good-looking. My game runs on 1300 by 700 something but I've upscaled the images to 1980 x 1080. Future Soldier greatly succeeds in being an interactive movie, but as a game — a big NO.
