Bioware has done it again, making Mass Effect 3 their simplest game yet. Mass Effect 2 fixed plenty of unrefined stuff from the original and streamlined a lot of mechanics to cater more audience but it also introduced gameplay elements new to the series making it a worthy successor to the original. But Bioware thought it's still a bit complicated to a few thus taking the word "streamlined" to a new level.
Mass Effect 3 omitted elements from its predecessor namely the hacking (I am one of those few who enjoys it); It oversimplified the choices, now almost all the dialogues contains only two choices, one for paragon and the other for renegade. It also made areas like in the Citadel smaller. And I admit planet scanning in ME2 sometimes feels like a chore but tweaking it a little can actually make it fun - guess what they've done? they've completely altered it to the most basic factor. As I discussed in my ME3 Demo Screens - there's three choices you can pick from the beginning on how you want to play the game, they should have added a 4th choice wherein you could just watch the whole game with only an option to forward or skip a scene then they could have attracted more players.
Don't get me wrong, overall ME3 is great and I like it, it's just that Bioware made some oversimplified designs and awkward decisions. Maybe they were catering to an even more wider audience? To a more primitive species? Monkeys
