I Saw the Devil's Film

Got the time to watch "I Saw the Devil" last night. Plot is pretty straightforward - man takes revenge for the death of his fiancé. The only problem here is revenge is more than just death to him. I don't normally watch torture movies even if they're highly rated but there's something in this that I couldn't resist. Maybe because it's same guy who made "A Bittersweet Life" which sported excellent cinematography and pacing.

I Saw the Devil is a perfectly crafted film. Violent scenes are brutally and explicitly depicted that the camera never shies away on atrocious acts, coupled with excellent editing and camera movements which is truly fascinating but at the same time very disturbing to watch . Acting is also superbly executed from both the main guy and the psycho. Movie's length is more than two hours yet with its great pacing it just feels right. But what really got me hooked is of course it's outstanding cinematography just like his past films.

I'll rate this an 11/10 ;P I would recommend this to anyone who loves vengeance but not for the faint of heart, this film is so sadistic. And be sure to pick the Korean version for an extra sex scene :3 otherwise get the International version for more graphic gore.
